Events We Love: Mass Meditation At The Full Moon Festival

Music festivals have become something of a self-parody of late, and an increasingly inaccessible parody at that.

With reasonably priced tickets (early bird GA is $31) and a boutique approach, The Full Moon Festival is– like an self-respecting venture aimed at millennials– disrupting the traditional festival approach. The vibe is described as “worldly cultural sensibility with a New York swagger” and is set to take place on July 8th, 2017 on Governor’s Island (so don’t worry about a Fyre Festival situation).

In addition to the line-up of artists (featuring performers like Vic Mensa and Kelela), visitors can also participate in a mass meditation, put on by The Big Quiet. Hailed as “the first of its kind,” the meditation will take place on the main stage field and will constitute “a large moment of togetherness with a guided meditation, fleet of sound bath practitioners, and string musicians.” What better way to chill out on a summer Saturday?
