This Year, Try Decorating Your Pumpkins With Dried Flowers

Carving pumpkins has long been a Halloween tradition— but for kids too young to safely use knives, the fun of the seasonal craft doesn’t always translate. (Even for those old enough to use knives, the experience can be frustrating– who hasn’t wanted to give up on those terrible serrated knife kits?)

Glitter, paint, and markers are solid options for decorating a pumpkin without sharp blades, but for those looking to infuse a little more nature into their Halloween crafts, try adding pressed flowers and autumn leaves to your jack-o-lantern. While it’s admittedly not quite the same as a spooky, grinning face, this art project does give the littlest Lil’ Sprouts a sense of ownership and creativity over their creation.
