Back-To-School Essentials for Every Lil’ Sprout

With Summer ending and Fall taking its place, Lil’ Sprouts start spending more time indoors. School and homework begin, and nature can start to feel out of reach. Below, we’ve gathered our favorite garden-themed items so Lil’ Sprouts can take the outdoors with them wherever they go. Incorporating thoughtful, sustainable products into home and school life is an excellent opportunity to remind kids of the ways in which nature doesn’t stop at the welcome mat.

bkr bottle: a bubbly glass water bottle + soft silicone sleeve 500ml

Simple and effortless, the bkr is an excellent alternative to metal water bottles, which can quickly warp at the bottom under the weight of water. The bkr bottle is made with soda-lime glass, is dishwasher safe, and is protected by an easy-to-grip silicone sleeve that insulates the contents of whatever it contains. For Lil’ Sprouts on the go, the bkr can be used at home, in school, on the field, in the garden, or anywhere else!

Rite in the Rain Spiral Notebook

The next time it starts pouring, don’t get rained in! Embrace your inner explorer and head outside with Rite in the Rain’s all-weather universal notebooks. Trusted for almost a century, Rite in the Rain’s products are made in Tacoma, Washington from post-consumer recycled materials. Rite in the Rain also sells a pen to use in extreme weather, but a number two pencil works just as well. So the next time there’s bad weather, don’t take a rain check–head outside and encourage Lil’ Sprouts to record what they see.

Bee’s Wrap

Made from organic muslin, beeswax, jojoba oil, and tree resin, family-owned Bee’s Wrap is an alternative to plastic wrap that can be used over and over to preserve just about anything in the kitchen. Bee’s Wrap is easy to clean (just use cool water and gentle soap) and even easier to use! As the warmth of your hands makes the beeswax more malleable, work the Bee’s Wrap around your desired food (halves of sandwiches, lemon wedges, pitchers of milk). Within seconds of removing your hands, a seal is created as the wax hardens again. Use Bee’s Wrap to pack a lunch for Lil’ Sprouts or to cover up leftovers, and when Bee’s Wrap start to wear out after a year, toss it in the compost!
