New York City’s “Wildflower Week” Is Upon Us

The eighth-annual NYC Wildflower Week starts this weekend, May 7th, and runs until the following Sunday, May 15th. Hosted by the Torrey Botanical Society, the weeklong celebration seeks to highlight the 53,000 acres of open space and 778 native plants found in New York (the city with “more nature than any other city in North America,” for those who weren’t aware). In addition to the general programming, NYC Wildflower Week features a number of special events for kids across the city and throughout the boroughs. The events range from beach clean-ups to nature fairs to botany for beginners. We hope to see you there!
