Model and Landscape Designer Lily Kwong Teams With Maiyet for New Botanical Collection
Luxury fashion line Maiyet and model/landscape designer Lily Kwong have collaborated to design a capsule collection and a living plant wall at Maiyet’s 16 Crosby Street flagship in New York City– the results of which establish botany as the future and present of the modern retail experience.
The six piece capsule collection is inspired by Maiyet and Lily Kwong’s shared passion for sustainability, with the aim of challenging people around them to “ask more” and “do more” for the world they inhibit. The collection features an arc slip dress, a tie waist robe dress, a turtleneck sweater, vintage jeans, a signature cross back top and a scarf, with many of the pieces integrating a custom botanical block print designed with Lily’s plant sketches and crafted by artisans in India. (Inspired by the character and sculptural form of tropical plants, Lily selected species whose structure lent themselves to block printing, including Monstera, Bird of Paradise, and Tradescantia.)
The full capsule collection is now available for purchase at 16 Crosby and Maiyet.com, while the 7×12 green wall (which features 10 species of tropical plants) is also on display at the Maiyet store in Soho– the perfect dose of green, just in time for the holidays. This weekend, the collection is available at Faena Bazaar at 3400 Collins Ave in Miami (through Sunday). Check out the gallery, above.
