Events We Love: Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s Annual Plant Sale

Ready to spruce up your window sill with some new plants? (We’ll admit, what plants we have that survived the winter are looking a little haggard and lonely.)

On May 11th, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is hosting their annual plant sale, which boasts the largest collection of plants in the metropolitan area. Native plants are a specific feature this year, as are drought-resistant succulents. Taking place on their scenic Cherry Esplanade, the plant sale also features free talks and workshops, like “Planting a DIY Sub-irrigated Window Box”, “Mastering the Art of Kokedama” (aka moss balls), and “Houseplants for Every Situation”. The plant sale is free with admission to the garden.

While you’re there, be sure to check out their new garden-sourced café and the heavenly scent of their wisteria vines.

Brooklyn Botanic Garden is located at 990 Washington Avenue in Brooklyn, off the Eastern Parkway Brooklyn Museum stop on the 2/3 subway line.
