Watch Leonardo DiCaprio’s Moving Documentary About Climate Change

Earlier this year, when Leonardo DiCaprio accepted his (long awaited) Oscar for The Revenant, he took his allotted stage time to not just thank friends, family, and co-workers, but to draw attention to Climate Change, an issue whose dire import the actor has espoused for years. In his speech, DiCaprio affirmed, “Climate change is real, it is happening right now. It is the most urgent threat facing our entire species, and we need to work collectively together and stop procrastinating… Let us not take this planet for granted. I do not take tonight for granted.”

In pursuit of this mission, DiCaprio journeyed around the world as a United Nations Ambassador of Peace to witness Climate Change firsthand– the events of which were filmed for the documentary Before the Flood. Presented by National Geographic, the documentary takes a global approach to the causes of climate change and its effects and documents the “calculated disinformation campaign orchestrated by powerful special interests working to confuse the public about the urgency of the growing climate crisis.” The film premiered in theaters on October 24th and was released on National Geographic on October 30th.
