Event We Love: Post-Halloween Pumpkin Smash NYC
On Saturday, November 4 from 10 AM to 1 PM, the NYC Compost Project hosted by the Lower East Side Ecology Center will be celebrating Pumpkin Smash 2017 at Clement Clarke Moore Park in Manhattan (10th Avenue between 21st and 22nd Streets).
“Don’t let your pumpkin haunt a landfill!” the NYC Compost Project writes of the event. “Bring pumpkins, jack-o-lanterns, and gourds for a smashing good time. You smash them and the NYC Compost Project will turn them into compost for City parks and green spaces. Join us for refreshments, raffles and more! Event will occur rain or shine.”
Can’t make it to Pumpkin Smash 2017? Interested parties can bring their jack-o-lanterns to a food scrap drop-off site in their neighborhood. (Learn what else you can drop off here.)
