KantoorKaravaan Offers Desk Space in the Wilderness
“That magic moment when an idea, trend, or social behavior crosses a threshold, tips, and spreads like wildfire”– so reads a large quote emblazoned across KantoorKaravaan‘s website– the only words that the Dutch design revolutionaries offer to readers in English.
KantoorKaravaan is a mobile office service that provides off-the-grid office space (KantoorKaravaan means “office caravan” in Dutch) in the countryside of various forests in the Netherlands.
The chicly-outfitted airstreams are completely green: they are solar-powered, feature composting toilets, and are made from vintage mobile homes stylishly converted into mobile shared office space. Just bring your laptop or other materials and get to work– they’ll provide the WIFI.
The company has plans to expand to Greece, Spain, Sweden, and the U.S.– and the mounting interest in this model makes sense: Studies show that green roofs can significantly improve worker performance, so why not offer a green view?
