Summer Cocktail Update: In Vacanza Is Our New Floral Favorite

A few weeks ago, we ran a story called La Sirena Gives GC A Lesson in Garden Mixology, in which we swung by Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich’s latest restaurant, La Sirena, to get some insight on floral cocktails with Bar Manager Meaghan Montagano.

“It’s safe to say that winding down after work with a refreshing cocktail and good company is a New York City ritual– a practice rendered all the more magical when daylight lasts until after 8 PM,” wrote GC contributor Nicole Hamilton. With that in mind, we felt inspired to find a new approach to floral-infused cocktails that everyone should be drinking this season, and below is the latest cocktail in our summer series, which is called In Vacanza.

In Vacanza is served in a gorgeous rose gold pineapple that makes for a great photo op!” Hamilton writes of the original La Sirena cocktail. “The In Vacanza is especially great for groups, too, as the large pineapple allows you to serve your friends ‘punch style’ over alluring floral ice cubes. The cocktail is garnished with nasturtium flowers from a Koppert Cress as well; this adds a visual bonus and a peppery flavor profile to the mix.”
