There’s a New Avocado Bar in Brooklyn

Dreams DO come true.

Your avocado emoji is about to get a workout.

Avocaderia, the world’s first (and only) avocado bar, opened Monday along Brooklyn’s industrial waterfront. The shopfront– whose back wall features a saucy neon sign reading “smashed in NYC”– is located within Industry City, Brooklyn’s more expansive answer to the Chelsea Market.

At the “quick serve avocado bar,” avocados feature in every dish, from salsa, to smoothies, to salads, to (of course) avocado toasts. (Their take on guacamole has a more mediterranean twist, with cucumber and extra lemon.)

The avocados themselves are all organic, and purchased from local farmers in Michoacán at fair trade rates. But that doesn’t mean you’ll have to set aside half a week’s paycheck to eat there– Avocaderia stresses that their dishes come at an affordable price point. (Take that, Chipotle guac!)

In case all that wasn’t convincing enough, avocados are packed with nutrients: fiber, potassium, Vitamin E, B-Vitamins, folic acid, and 20 essential nutrients. In the body, that translates to building muscle, maintaining healthy eyesight, and promoting healthy cell growth, among other benefits. In short: good for the mind, body, and curated foodie aesthetic.
