Bouquet of the Week: Purples and Metallics

As part of our recurring Bouquet of the Week series, Garden Collage continues to present a weekly inspirational bouquet that incorporates intriguing new elements into the traditional practice of flower arranging. This week, Garden Collage collaborates with Fiore Design in Los Angeles to style a bouquet using designer Laura Braun’s own “trophy vase”. 

A few weeks ago the GC Team underwent what is now going to be known as a Garden Collage tradition: the Rose Bowl Challenge. Each of our team members was given $30 to spend on a unique, intriguing “vessel” to be sourced from the iconic Rose Bowl Flea Market in Pasadena, California.

Garden Collage Creative Director Laura Braun found a 1960’s trophy at the market, and we thought it was too cool not to use it again for our Bouquet of the Week series. Accordingly, we teamed up with the floral design experts at Fiore in Venice Beach to style a bouquet that would match the unique metallic character of the trophy. Here is what the gurus at Fiore came up with:

The deep magenta calla lilies and woody, earthen elements function as a nice tonal complement to the rusty, almost-copper like trophy metal. The amber inset also serves as a nice counter-point to the purple and green foliage– an ideal combo when styling around a vessel that was already beautiful and eccentric to begin with.
