Bouquet of the Week: Flowers For a Guest Room
As part of our recurring Bouquet of the Week series, Garden Collage continues to present a weekly inspirational bouquet that incorporates intriguing new elements into the traditional practice of flower arranging. This week, Garden Collage styles a bouquet for a guest room– with a quick additional tip on what to do with leftover flowers.
One of the fun things about hosting during the summer is having a reasonable excuse to purchase flowers for a guest room. For this week’s bouquet, we chose end-of-the-day roses from our local farmer’s market and paired them with yarrow, flowering oregano, and wheat– heartland blooms that make any arrangement feel eternally wild and welcoming.
A subtle tip that we love sharing whenever we get into the discussions about what to do with extra flowers is to put them in the bathroom. No matter how many flowers remain after you crafted a personal arrangement, one should always throw them in a smaller vessel and put them somewhere. Guests will appreciate the subtle touch of nature that welcomes them into a private or communal bath, so we advise placing the “leftovers” in a vase on the bathroom counter. Take those spillover flowers and put them to good use. Happy weekend!
