Get Ready For Summer With An All-Natural Mosquito Repellant
There are a few rituals that presage the arrival of summer: digging out warm-weather clothes, for one– but also spending evenings outside and warring with mosquitos. Fortunately, we’ve formulated an easy repellant made with all-natural, plant-based ingredients that are safe to use around your family. All you need is distilled water, witch hazel, and a few bug-repelling herbs picked fresh from the garden (try rosemary, citronella, or lavender).

The process of making this DIY mosquito repellant is simple: just mix equal parts distilled water and witch hazel, then throw in your preferred aromatic herbs before boiling (we used citronella for its potent mosquito-fighting power, and lavender to tame the scent). After bringing the solution to a boil, quickly remove from heat, cool, and strain into a spray bottle. Store this DIY mosquito repellant in a cool, dark place and you’ll be bite-free (we hope) all summer!
