Blossom Beats Celebrates The Return Of Spring

This past Sunday marked the first day of Spring– a date that indicates not only the return of nature, but the onset of many celebratory outdoor events, as well. One series of events that the GC team (along with many millions of others around the world) is particularly looking forward to in these early weeks of the season are the cherry blossom festivals.

At the Flower Dome in Singapore, Gardens by the Bay is kicking off the cherry blossom season with Blossom Beats, an experimental floral display designed in the style of a traditional Japanese garden. The exhibit, open until March 27th, incorporates traditional Japanese elements like the bright red tori gate pictured above.

In tropical Singapore, cherry and peach blossoms are an unusual sight, and Gardens by the Bay has sought out especially unusual varieties for the exhibit. Over 20 types of cherry and peach blossoms are on display (more than have ever been available to guests before), including a peach tree whose flowers bloom in hues of both red and white, separately.
