Events We Love: Tap Into Your Flower Power at This Year’s Flowerstock
When Holly Chapple first arrived at Hope Flower Farms in 2015, she imagined one day seeing the space welcoming a flower festival, one that would invite flower enthusiasts, professional and amateur alike, to partake in a bacchanal of floral delights. On October 17 and 18, that dream is coming true.
Flowerstock— taking place across Hope Flower Farms’ verdant 25 acres in Waterford, VA– is a two-day long festival of demonstrations and workshops led by some of the most respected florists in the field, with the idea of creating a “flower-lover’s dream”. Joseph Massie, known as one of Europe’s top botanists and an organizer of Flowerstock, said of the event: “We’ll be working on an installation of connectivity, of community.” Noted guests include Lisa Waud (of Detroit Flower House fame) and Kelly Marie Thompson (whose work as Fleur is pictured below).
Beyond the floral-themed programming, Flowerstock will feature live music, food trucks, barn dancing, campfires, and yoga. For those who want to “rough it”, glamping options are available.
