Watch The Gilmore Girls Argue About The Corpse Flower in New Netflix Trailer

Netflix’s Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life is one of the year’s most highly-anticipated television events: a new mini-series follow-up to Gilmore Girls, the 2000’s-era cult TV show about a young woman raised by a single mom in Stars Hollow, Connecticut. The feverishly-anticipated Season 8 will arrive to Netflix on November 25, 2016, and in the lead up to the event, Netflix has continually shared a series of nostalgia-inducing trailers.

Part of this nostalgia stems from the fact that the new series looks to place the old model of Gilmore Girls into the modern era of iPhones and information technology (phone-based internet was not really ‘a thing’ during the show’s heyday in the early 2000’s).

To that end, in the series’ latest trailer, Alexis Bledel’s character, Rory, uses her iPhone to notably look up a reference to the world’s largest, smelliest flower while discussing Amy Schumer (another contemporary reference) with her mother (played by Lauren Graham). We were already excited for the series revival, now we just have to watch it. Check out the girls’ corpse flower banter, below.
