Events We Love: All About Wild Chocolate
Want an excuse to eat chocolate? Truthfully, you don’t really need one– but if you want to pair your sweet snacking with some intellectual stimulation, check out Wild Chocolate: A Bean-to-Bar Blowout, which takes place this Sunday, March 5th 2017, at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.
From 4 to 6:30 PM, the BBG (in partnership with noted botanical, Brooklyn-based chocolatiers Raaka Chocolate) is hosting a conversation with Nate Hodge (Raaka’s head chocolatier) about wild cacao conservation efforts in South America and about the bean-to-bar chocolate-making process, followed by an in-depth tasting session, utilizing all the different forms and parts of cacao.
Not sold? Chocolate has a plethora of health properties, including improving heart heath and mood, and reducing diabetes risk. And if you can’t make the event, be sure to check out our list of botanic-based chocolates.
Visit the Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s page for more information or to purchase tickets.
