This Exhibit Will Help You Find Your Perfect Plant

Recently opened at the U.S. Botanic Garden is You Can Grow It!, an indoor and outdoor exhibit designed to answer the most common household plant questions the USBG answers. The display is open until October 15th, 2017 and features information on the best type of plant for your space (according to sunlight and time you have to provide care). Advice on popular plants (like succulents and cacti), as well as hydroponics, orchids, and other seasonal plants, is also on display. For those less blessed in the plant care department, there is also information on which plants are nearly impossible to kill, no matter how much they’re neglected (or overwatered or deprived of sunlight). Beyond plants, You Can Grow It! demonstrates different methods of growing, like the advantages of container growing.

“No one is born with a green thumb,” Ari Novy, executive director of the USBG, observed. “Gardening is life-long learning leading to an ever-greening thumb, and plants, over time. Through You Can Grow It!, the U.S Botanic Garden is excited to share our horticultural expertise. This exhibit will provide valuable tips for expert gardeners and beginners alike to keep the plants in your life healthy and beautiful.”
