Events We Love: The Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s Annual Chile Pepper Festival
On Saturday, September 29 from 11 AM to 6 PM the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is hosting its 27th annual Chile Pepper Festival. The event takes place in the Brooklyn Botanic Garden along the Cherry Tree Esplanade, though those with a ticket to the event are welcome to wander the rest of the grounds.
The day is filled with assorted live music, fire acts, and, of course, plenty of free samples. The Chile Pepper Festival has every incarnation of chile peppers you can imagine–from sweet to savory– and even a few more things you didn’t imagine. (Spicy PB&J, anyone?)
Previous years’ vendors (who tend to be mostly local, independent businesses) have included Mike’s Hot Honey, JoMart Chocolates, and Salty Road (whose spicy salt water taffy is not to be missed). Just make sure you pack your game face and a glass of milk.
