Events We Love: Herbs For Days (Literally) At The Great Lakes Herb Faire
Kicking off harvest season this year from September 8th to the 10th is the third annual Great Lakes Herb Faire. (You know it’s legit because it’s got an ‘e’ at the end.)
Taking place at the Cedar Lake Outdoor Center in Chelsea, MI, the Great Lakes Herb Faire promises “classes for all levels, fun evening activities, music and dance, a wonderful kids’ program, creative vendors, and of course phenomenal food.” In addition to the programming and networking, participants are also invited to enjoy the beauty of surrounding areas, which the website describes as encompassing several different types of habitats, with winding trails, wildlife to admire from afar– and, of course, plenty of herbs. At its core, the Great Lakes Herb Faire wants to immerse visitors in the experience of a life lived more in tune with nature.
Registration is currently open online; visitors must purchase a weekend long pass, as day passes are not offered. Meal plans and lodging can be added on as desired, and families can opt for certain discounts. If the price is still too steep, the Great Lakes Herb Faire offers a work-exchange as well as scholarships.
The Great Lakes Herb Faire takes place at Cedar Lake Outdoor Center, 2500 Pierce Rd, Chelsea, MI. For more information, visit their website.
