Perfect Products for Life With Kids

Three kids later, I realize the smallest things in life are often taken for granted.
Once upon a time, my morning routine took almost one hour, including hair and makeup– something I now reminisce and smirk to myself about. These days, I really don’t have much time to spend on all things beauty, as I once did. Instead, I tend to reach for the more versatile products, like the Lip and Cheek stain from Benefit Cosmetics in the color rose, and the Too Faced Bronzer in Milk Chocolate Soleil. The Benetint provides a nice flush on the cheeks while adding a subtle color when applied to the lips. The bronzer adds some color back to my pale “winter skin” and can also be used as an eyeshadow to create dimension without having to try so hard.
Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray is another product that helps me speed up the process of getting ready in the morning. The flat iron tool I once used so leisurely for my hair has gone out of commission and I have started using a healthier method to style my hair. The spray can be used on dry or wet hair and works wonders by adding waves to my hair without the crunch. Coconut oil has been a staple in my life and so readily available, but I’ve discovered another favorite in Nigella Oil from Charme D’Orient. I apply it to my face and body almost every night before bed, and sporadically to my hair.
A good night’s sleep doesn’t happen very often for me, but what keeps me calm and ready to battle the day is my favorite flavor of tea from Numi: Moroccan Mint. I find it’s easy to fall off-track during the holidays, but I won’t let those tempting holiday drinks sway my healthy choices.
Every evening after work, I spend some time with the kids. After homework and the kids flooding me with the artwork they’ve created in school for me, our favorite thing to do is color with gnome crayons and play with building blocks to see who can build the highest tower.
Of course, I always let them win.
