How To Make Paper Roses That Aren’t Kitschy

To ensure a long-lasting bouquet this Valentine’s Day, learn to make your own! These paper flowers are simple and easy– plus, you can decorate winter branches with them and make them into a Valentine’s Day centerpiece. Write a message on the inside of each flower for the people you love most. Plus, if you use compostable seed paper, you can plant the flowers in your yard as a lasting symbol for those you care about.

Materials

• Paper
• Scissors
• Pencil
• Glue

Directions

1. Cut a 3″ x 3″ square piece of paper.
2. Trace a spiral on the inside of the square, about 1/4″ between the circles of the spiral. If you would like to write a message, add one to the inside of the spirals!
3. Cut the spiral out.
4. Begin rolling the spiral in on itself, starting from the outside. Roll until there is no more paper left. Affix with a small dot of glue if needed.
5. Add to real branches from leftover plants to create your own bouquet!
