Celebrate “Plant A Flower Day” with GC!

On March 12th, we’re taking our garden back outside for Plant A Flower Day (yes, it’s a real holiday!) and to get ready for spring. It’s just starting to warm up here in New York and most of our year round plants have spent the winter indoors.┬áIn honor of the occasion, rather than plant something new, we’re┬árepotting our favorite spring flowers: daffodils.

Daffodils are a famously short lived plant–but don’t be tempted to cut them down when they start to wither! Cutting down your daffodils tends to lead to a less impressive bloom the following season. Instead, braid your daffodils as they start to fall. This also helps to keep them from smothering the plants around them when they die.
