Celebrate “Plant A Flower Day” with GC!

On March 12th, we’re taking our garden back outside for Plant A Flower Day (yes, it’s a real holiday!) and to get ready for spring. It’s just starting to warm up here in New York and most of our year round plants have spent the winter indoors. In honor of the occasion, rather than plant something new, we’re repotting our favorite spring flowers: daffodils.

Daffodils are a famously short lived plant–but don’t be tempted to cut them down when they start to wither! Cutting down your daffodils tends to lead to a less impressive bloom the following season. Instead, braid your daffodils as they start to fall. This also helps to keep them from smothering the plants around them when they die.
