Catnip

Catnip

Sometimes known as catswort or catmint, catnip can be used to season food or brew tea for stomach aches.

Why We Love It

In addition to appealing to four-footed friends, catnip is an excellent choice for drought gardens.

Requirements

Catnip care is a lot like cat care-- give it direct sunlight and avoid getting it too wet (water about every two weeks when it's mature).

The Cat's Meow

Cats of all sizes-- from leopards to lynxes-- enjoy catnip's active ingredient (nepetalactone).

Freeze Out

You can keep your catnip in an airtight container in the freezer, but its potency will dwindle with time.
