Cherry Tomatoes

Originally known to Aztecs as xitomatl ("plump thing with a navel"), cherry tomatoes are a rich source of nutrients and are an easy entry into vegetable gardening.

Why We Love Them

We can't think of better summer time snack than a few cherry tomatoes freshly picked from the garden.

Requirements

Cover your bases by placing limestone along the bottom of the plant's hole or container (which should be in full sun), and fertilize thoroughly.

Garden Bed Buddies

The best companion plants for cherry tomatoes are basil, dill, and peppers. Avoid cabbage and potatoes.
