Morning Glories

Morning Glories

So named because they open in the morning and close in the afternoon, these trumpet-shaped flowers can grow on trellises or along the ground.

Why We Love Them

When grown along walls, morning glories can naturally cool buildings.

Requirements

Morning glories enjoy full sun and moist (but not wet) soil. Otherwise, they don't need much-- just make sure you give them something to climb.

Day Tripper

Some morning glory seeds contain a compound similar to LSD.

Sisters of the Moon

Moonflowers are a type of morning glories that open at night and benefit nocturnal pollinators, like moths.
