Copper Beech

Copper Beech

Known sometimes as European beech or common beech, copper beech is a large tree that can reach up to 160 ft (so make sure you give it room to grow!).

Why We Love It

There's nothing quite so romantic as the foliage of a copper beech tree in Fall.

Requirements

Copper beech trees are generally resistant to pests and diseases-- just be sure to give them a spot with full sun.

Old Friends

In addition to having some of the largest groves in the country, Brookline, Massachusetts has some of the oldest copper beech trees in the US.

Knock Wood

Beech trees are a particular favorite for furniture, as they bend without breaking and have fewer knots than others trees of a similar hardness.
